Chérine Pollini is from Switzerland and joined the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in 1994. She has taken up the position of Head of the ICRC Mission in Qatar as of 28 September 2020. She graduated from the University of Montpellier, France, in "Langues étrangères appliquées" (English and Spanish), 1987 – 1990. She holds a Certificate in Management of Human Resources, University of Geneva, Switzerland, 2005.
