The Research Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics (CILE), and the MA Program in the Study of Muslim Contemporary Thought and Societies are to host a joint public lecture entitled: “Women Scholars of Hadith in Islam”, on Thursday 31 December, 2015. This event will take place from 3.00pm to 5.00pm at the Auditorium of the new building of Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies in Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) at the Education City.
Dr Mohammad Akram Nadwi , a former academician and research fellow at Oxford University, is going to speak about his ground-breaking research on the female scholars of Islam in the field of Hadith. His work is hailed as a unique masterpiece in the history of Islam, analyzing the biographies of over 9000 female scholars from the time of Prophet Muhammad until today in 57 volumes.
