What is Islamic Ethics and what is it for?
It will be held on Septemper 1st, 2019 from 7 to 9 pm in the Auditorium of the College of Islamic Studies building.
Islamic Ethics is one of the emerging scholarly disciplines, which has close affinity with various disciplines within the field of Islamic Studies. Its applications also interact with a wide range of disciplines within and outside Islamic Studies.
During this public seminar, a number of prominent researchers in Islamic Ethics will deliberate on relevant questions like: What is “Islamic Ethics”, as a scholarly discipline? How does this discipline relate to other disciplines like Islamic theology, Sufism, or Islamic law (fiqh)? What is the possible contribution of Islamic Ethics to applied fields like economics, finance, bioethics, etc. ?
