
The Research Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics (CILE), member of Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies, concluded a specialized research seminar on “Politics and Ethics” on June 10th 2013 at the premises of Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies.
This seminar came among a serie of specialized research seminars organized by CILE where a top notch group of scholars and experts in different disciplines participate.
Those disciplines include: Politics, Economics, Media, Bioethics & Medicine, Arts, Environment, Food,Education, Gender Studies, Psychology, and Methodology.
2) The ethical limits on freedom of speech in light of Shariah objectives.
The seminar was characterized by the unique participation of some top-notch scholars who contributed to shaping and formulating the contemporary Islamic political thought.
Those included: Dr Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, the chairman of International Union for Muslim Scholars; Dr Hasan Al Turabi, the Sudanese political leader and renowned Islamic thinker; Dr Abdelmajid Najjar, member of the National Constituent Assembly in Tunisia; Dr Rajaa Naji, member of Moroccan Supreme Scientific Council; Dr Ibrahim Rasool, South African Ambassador to the United States; Dr John Louis Esposito, professor of International Affairs and Islamic Studies at Georgetown University; Dr Mohammad Hashim Kamali, Founding Chairman and CEO of the International Institute of Advanced Islamic Studies, Malaysia.
The seminar was moderated by Dr Mohamed El Moctar Shinqiti, Professor of History of Religions at Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies in addition to the Executive Director of CILE Dr Tariq Ramadan and Deputy Director Dr Jasser Auda.
